In this moment before Ash Wednesday and Lent, the church’s approach to Holy week and Easter, we want to remember how the Lord communicates to us through the wonder of the scriptures, our collection of 66 books that make up the Bible. You know, Genesis talks about the beginning of the world, Leviticus tells us about the many laws of God to regulate his people so that they worship right and act right. A book like 2 Samuel describes the life of David, and the Psalms contain beautiful poetry. A prophet like Jonah tells us of his wrestling with God. In the Gospel of Matthew, you find a genealogy of Jesus, stories about his birth, his baptism and teachings and miracles. We have just been studying 1 & 2 Thessalonians, letters Paul wrote to that church to inspire them to love Jesus more and more.
