Pastor Frank says:
While you have responsibility, time and resources, always wrestle with it, are you yielding to God? Are you acting as an agent of faith, and doing what God wills for you? This story does not condemn anyone, it presents opportunity. The result of the rich man’s indifference and selfishness is a destination in hell. He has done nothing to show life for God, otherwise he would have shown conscience. What does Boaz in the book of Ruth do? He ensures that the poor glean from his field. His success as a farmer must make room for providing for those who are powerless and on the fringes. Are you allowing your faith to work? Not just keeping these laws but fulfilling the spirit of them.
