The Lord called Abram (whom he later named Abraham) to leave Ur, his city, where all of his family and ancestors and gods and religious life was and go to the place God would show to him. There was no place to go to, but there was to be an adventure on a journey for the kingdom of God. When God called his prophets, they went to Israel to remind them of God’s will and to determine for them God’s promises. When Jesus called his disciples, he asked them to journey on an adventure for the Kingdom of God, wherever that would take them. So, God calls us, also. Where shall he take us?
