Some debate the idea of a Roman census. Yet every emperor always busied himself with gathering his taxes properly. Traveling on the road is never easy, especially when expecting a baby. Accommodation is always a challenge in every time and place. The beautiful thing of our Lord’s birth is that it is real, and as a real person, he started a journey that would finish as God’s greatest gift of love and devotion to us. May our faith in him be strong.
