God met his people at Mt. Sinai and gave them his commands. They were to learn them, practice them and teach them to their children. God gave these things personally, speaking to Israel with his voice. They saw no image and were not to ever worship any image, as all of the nations around them did. They were to fear the Lord, honor and revere his name. They were not to fear any other force in the world, because all of it came from the Lord and was under his control. If they follow God’s word and God’s commands, all will come good for them.
