Jesus has come to bring peace and will leave a peace that passes understanding on his disciples. Every time he meets them, he says, “Peace be with you” In our passage this morning, Jesus reminds his disciples that the peace he brings and the peace he gives will overcome their troubles and worries. The world itself does not allow peace to rest upon it. Conflicts and wars break out all too easily and bring trouble on everyone. In this season, may our Lord grant us true peace in our hearts and minds that only He has to give, and may we be blessed to contribute to that peace that can overcome our world with the joy of heaven.
