“Paul takes what he has learned and uses it in a defense of Jesus Christ as God’s Messiah, the fulfillment of the ages. He spends 3 Sabbaths teaching about this in the synagogue of Thessalonika. Some of the Jews are convinced, a lot of Gentiles and a certain number of prominent women also believe. It does not say how many. It just says that these are the ones who responded. This is how they become God’s choice. The light goes on and they begin to follow Christ. The confirmation of it is in the power God demonstrates in their lives, the power of the Holy Spirit, the power of forgiveness and reconciliation, the power to persevere under pressure.”
