The road to Calvary is being influenced by one of Jesus’ own disciples, interested in joining the opposition. Why, o why does Judas choose to betray his Master? Has Jesus really disappointed him so much? Does he feel like he is eliminating him for a good and noble reason? We really cannot fully know the heart and mindset of Judas Iscariot. But he decides that he will betray Jesus to the Jewish ruling authorities. He joins in the view that Jesus has become too big a troublemaker. So, Satan has poisoned Judas’ mind, and the Lord has allowed him to choose the forces of evil who stand in opposition to God.
