Jeus is asked by what authority hi is clearing out the temple courts. He claims heavenly authority. He knows what the Father in heaven wants, even if his people on earth have forgotten and now ignore his priorities. This is a major challenge to the religious establishment of that day. The enemy has usurped their minds and their hearts so that they are closed to what God is doing in their midst. And Jesus then prophetically talks about his body as the temple that shall be torn down and rebuilt in 3 days, clearly a reference to his death and resurrection, as testified to by his disciples.
