The road to Calvary was being prepared and built throughout the ancient history of Israel. they knew that God did not entertain sin. And they knew the world would be a hostile place to their presence and their witness. The world does not know it is sinful and fallen and lost. But it is, God knows it, and has a plan of redemption to call us out of it and to give us hope. This road to Calvary is described in ancient texts for Israel. It is something they know is going to happen.
