Pastor Frank says: We are accountable for life. It is no accident that the commandment to honor your father and mother means long and flourishing life, and then we are commanded not to kill. At the very beginning of the Bible the temptation is to kill, as Cain resents Abel over his good relationship with God and his own shortcomings. What else can we do than be in comparison and so become ruthless in the process. But God tells Cain, do not do it. But he does it anyway. When you do take a life like this, you think you gain an advantage. But you negate the very gift of God, the basis for our even being here at all.
