Here Paul is reminding the Corinthians that our Lord has poured out the Holy Spirit to provide us a true and authentic confession. The Holy Spirit works in the church in diverse ways but illustrates and affirms our unity in the Body of Christ. It is a true distraction when we try to compare one part of the body with another to disqualify that part. You cannot. Your thumb is as important for your work at the keyboard of a computer as your eyes. You have feet to put you on the ground and move you. Yet the Holy Spirit is present to us here in the body in a variety of ways to build us up into what Jesus Christ is calling us to be.
