Andrew is actually known as the first called disciple, who then went and found his brother Simon (whom we now know better as Peter). Andrew is present at many key moments. He brings the boy with loaves and fishes to Jesus just before that miracle. In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus observes these two brothers, Simon and Andrew, actually cast their net into the sea, at this, he says to them, follow me and I will make you fishers of men (and women) that many may know that I am He, the living Lord Jesus Christ, whom you can proclaim to all near and far. Perhaps we can examine the life of Andrew in scripture as a way to look at all the other not so famous disciples. Yet, they are mentioned by name in Matthew 10 and Acts chapter 1. In the list, Andrew always comes first. He is known for many things, most importantly being the patron saint of Scotland.
