This commandment is about honoring your parents, the nest into which you were born, where you received your first impressions, who made decisions that set a foundation for your life. Once you put in place a proper honoring of your parents, set within proper boundaries, then you will have a basis from which to build a successful and flourishing life. What you learn at home extends to all of your other relationships.
