Peter Knapp says, “When we read the accounts of the resurrection, we may be surprised how slow the disciples were to grasp what happened and believe. We will use the account of the disciples’ discovery of the empty tomb in John 20 as a starting point for a journey through the different Scripture passages that show why the disciples should have believed, even expected Jesus’ death and resurrection. This journey will take us from John the Baptist to Lazarus with some highlights from the Old Testament. Despite all these reasons the disciples did not believe at first. Will you?
