Today we examine the steadfast hope of Hannah. How did the barren wife of Elkanah rise above the travails of a less-than-ideal marriage and family situation? By being steadfast with a HOPE and a VOW! Hannah Offered Prayer Expectantly because she remained steadfast in her faith and hope that the Lord Almighty must have a purpose for her life. Of course she longs to have children, but even more she longs to draw near to God’s heart and know his will for her life. So she makes a VOW– A Vital Offering of Worship. This is the climax and twist in the classic story. For this story points forward to THE STORY of another humble heroine who will face the drama of a mysterious pregnancy, but still offers her life to God in total surrender saying, ” I am the Lord’s servant… May it be to me as you have said” (Luke 1:38)
