The Holy Spirit was poured out in a dramatic and dynamic way. Peter came forward to offer a defense against accusations of drunkenness and crazy behavior. He made sense from Scripture of what God had been doing through Jesus Christ. Yahweh had come to earth and made his dwelling among men. Yes, he did. In his response to Peter’s biblical exposition of the events surrounding Jesus, the gathered Jews from all over the then known world asked, “What must we do?” Peter said, repent and believe. The church was truly born as a gathering and they began the work of discipleship.
