Professor Michael Owen’s Message Summary: The Bible is for us but the many books of the Bible were not written to us. They were written to a different people, in a different time and different place with a different language and different culture and different expectations. If we take the time to let the Bible speak to us in its own way, then we may be given insights beyond our own limited understandings and catch the voice of God through the pages of scripture. This is true even with passages as familiar as the Christmas story, which, to those with ears to hear, can tell us of deep things of God expressed in ways nobody expected.
