The great question Paul is seeking to answer is how do sinful people enter into a justified relationship with a holy God? Did the way of the law found in the Old Testament achieve this? Paul says no way. We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we now belong to him, we are sheep of his fold, adopted and declared righteous through his atonement.
