I would like to take up a series in the Gospel of John. This series will focus on symbolism. We have various things we are very familiar with, such as light, water and bread, among many others. And to help us understand who our Savior is and what God is up to in our world today, we can use these common, everyday realities of our world to help us understand better. The Gospel of Joh specializes in these and uses them to drive home that this Savior, Jesus, our Savior, Jesus is come into the world to provide every basic need for life, in a completely holistic sense. In this case, we focus on the symbol of Living Water.
