The pastoral search phase for a church as it waits upon God for its new pastor can be a stretching time. During our three year search period at Faith Church, God has been so very good to us!   He has sent several quality men of God to feed the flock, including three interim pastors.  Eric Sorensen was our first interim pastor easing us into the search period, serving along with his wife Karyn and two daughters.  Rev. Henry DeVries and his wife, Judy, were a natural and welcome “fit” having served many years as missionaries in the Philippines and Guam and having been an important part of Faith Church during their time on Guam.  Finally,  Rev. Verlan Van Ee along with his wife, Becky, and their son spent about seven months with us ministering in various ways.

Standing in the gap often, preaching as needed were staff members from Pacific Islands University, a local bible university with which Faith Church has enjoyed a longstanding relationship.  We also heard from our elders Jeff Nelson, Betwin Alokoa and Dr. Bill Wood and Pastor James of the Chuukese congregation that meets in our church.  We have not suffered from spiritual hunger. The Lord faithfully sent His servants to feed His lambs!

Along with maintaining our usual activities and programs, we celebrated baptisms, shared a fun family field day, began a new ladies bible study group, and extended the right hand of fellowship to new members.  One highlight was an opportunity to minister to about 50 Marines and Navy sailors who were ported to Guam for a few days and wanted to do some work projects. The work was followed by a fiesta and informal worship service.   We look forward to what the Lord has in store for us here at Faith Church into the future.
