Today we look at an interesting question in the life of Israel’s first king – Saul.  God allowed Israel to have a king, but on a very specific condition – that the nation and new king serve and obey God.  It looked like things might go well, and Saul and Jonathan had some small successes against the Philistines, but then they mounted a massive threat.  It was the new king’s first crisis, a crisis of trust in and obedience to God.  Saul’s crisis can teach us a lot!
