In Acts last time we saw Philip faithfully planting Gospel seed in Samaria, and Peter and John sent there to pray for the Spirit to come into them. Now we ‘suddenly’ find the Holy Spirit sent Philip south of Jerusalem on a desert road.  We will see he is “guided” and “obedient” to the Spirit for a very special and important “chance” meeting with a Jewish Proselyte from Ethiopia.  It was not “chance”, but the Spirit leading a series of miracles up to Philip being ‘spirited away’ some 35 miles to the coast and then making his way to Caesarea (probably his home town) faithfully preaching the gospel in all the towns along his way.
